The Ritual and Its Weight

No Vedic fire begins without Ganapathi. He is invoked first in every rite, and the Ganapathi Homa is that invocation given a whole fire of its own. Modaka, coconut, ghee, durva grass and jaggery go into the flame while the Ganapathi mantras are chanted, count by count, until the offering is complete. In the business tradition, this is the rite performed at the threshold — before a shop opens, before a contract is signed, before a new line of work is begun.

What is Ganapathi Homa, in plain terms? It is the ritual acknowledgement that obstacles are real and that they are removed by grace rather than force. Vighnaharta, the remover of hindrances, is also Siddhi Vinayaka, the giver of accomplishment — the same hand that clears the path also blesses what travels along it. Devotees book this homa when a venture feels stalled, when an opening needs to widen, or simply when something new is beginning and they want it begun rightly.

ॐ वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटिसमप्रभ । निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥ O Lord of the curved trunk and mighty form, radiant as ten million suns, make all my undertakings free of obstacles, always.

Why Devotees Book This

The Ganapathi Homa benefits named in the tradition all begin at the same place — the removal of what stands in the way. These are the intentions devotees carry into this fire.

Clearing the path of a venture

Offered when a business feels blocked — permissions stuck, orders delayed, momentum lost — invoking Vighnaharta to remove the hindrance at its root.

Auspicious beginnings

Traditionally performed before a shop opening, a company registration, a new product launch or a first day of trade, so the venture starts under Ganapathi's grace.

New opportunities and openings

Ganapathi guards the doorway. Devotees seek his blessing for fresh contacts, unexpected enquiries and doors that had seemed closed.

Success in deals and negotiations

Sought before signing agreements, meeting partners or closing a sale — for clarity of speech, goodwill on both sides, and dealings that hold.

Steadiness in expansion

Invoked when adding a branch, a team or a new market, asking that growth be firm-footed rather than fragile.

Buddhi and right decision

Ganapathi is Lord of intelligence. The homa is offered for discernment — knowing which offer to take and which to let pass.

Step 1 How many priests will perform your homa?

Has your astrologer prescribed a different number of ahutis? Our priests can review it and arrange a customised homa. Call our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442 — they confirm the count, the priests, the approximate duration and the total price before you book.

Sacred timing

The most auspicious days for a Ganapathi Homa

Wondering which day is good for Ganapathi Homa?

Chaturthi and Sankashti Chaturthi

The fourth lunar day is Ganapathi's own tithi. Sankashti Chaturthi, in the waning fortnight, is especially sought for the removal of obstruction.

Friday and Wednesday

Fridays are widely favoured for prosperity and business intentions; Wednesdays carry Budha's blessing for trade, commerce and negotiation.

Vinayaka Chaturthi

Ganesha Chaturthi in Bhadrapada is the high day of the year for this homa, and bookings for it fill early.

Before a launch or signing

Beyond the calendar, the strongest timing is the one tied to your event — the days before a shop opening, a registration, a tender or a contract date.

You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.

Every package, and the 48-day option

What you receive

The sealing of the Ganapathi Yantra

The Ganapathi Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homa concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Personal sankalpa

Your name, gotra & nakshatra — and up to four family members if you wish. No one else is named.

Hear yours read back, as the priest will say it →

Live telecast

Watch your own homa in real time from the ashram. Streamed openly on our YouTube channel by default — or request an unlisted telecast at checkout.

Free energised Ganapathi Yantra, sealed in a silver amulet

Prasadam, shipped free

Sacred vibhuti, sandalwood powder & kumkum from your fire — delivered to any country.

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum

48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.

A note on sacred tradition

As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.

Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and any family members you add, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.

We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.

After it arrives

How to wear your energised Ganapathi Yantra

01

Your auspicious time to wear it

Wear it for the first time on the day named in your dispatch email, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.

02

At a funeral

Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.

03

Purify the amulet

Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.

04

Keep the energy intact

You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.

03

Agni Pratishtha

The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.

06

Purnahuti

The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.

07

Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Ganapathi Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.

Who is invoked

Ganapathi

Ganapathi addressed through the mula mantra is the elephant-headed deity whose title gaṇapati names him master of the troops that surround Shiva. In the opening of the Ganesha Purana and in the Ganapati Atharvashirsha he is the one remembered before any other utterance is formed. The mantra joins the seed gaṃ to the dative gaṇapataye and the salutation namaḥ, the shortest complete address recognised by the ritual handbooks of the Ganapatya and Smarta streams. The dhyana that accompanies this root formula shows the familiar four-armed figure bearing goad, noose, broken tusk and modaka, the mouse as vehicle. Unlike the thirty-two specialised forms of the Mudgala Purana, the mula does not fix him in a single mood or office; it simply names him at the point where invocation itself begins.

In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.

Questions

Frequently asked

The Ganapathi Homa, or Ganapathi Homam, is a Vedic fire ritual in which Ganapathi, the elephant-faced remover of obstacles, is invoked in a consecrated agni and offered ghee, modaka, coconut, jaggery and durva grass. He is invoked first in all Vedic worship, and the homa's significance lies in that primacy: nothing begins well until Ganapathi has been honoured. Offering him a fire of his own is the traditional way of placing a whole undertaking — a business, a contract, a new chapter — under his protection at its very start, and of asking him to clear a path that has become blocked.
The benefits the tradition describes for the Ganapathi Homa are the clearing of obstacles from a venture, auspicious beginnings for new work, the opening of fresh opportunities and contacts, goodwill and clarity in deals and negotiations, steadiness during expansion, and sharpened buddhi for right decisions. Ganapathi is invoked as Vighnaharta, the remover of hindrances, and as Siddhi Vinayaka, the giver of accomplishment: the same hand that clears the path blesses what travels along it. It is offered as prayer.
Anyone may have the Ganapathi Homa performed; there is no restriction of caste, gotra, region, marital status or country. Business owners book it before a launch, a signing or an expansion, and professionals, families and students before any new beginning or when work has stalled. The chanting and fire offerings are carried out by our qualified priests at our Yagna Ashram, with the sankalpa taken in your name, gotra and birth star; your part is to watch the live telecast. You need no prior initiation, and the ceremony is private, for you and up to four family members.
Yes — families commonly have the Ganapathi Homa performed during a pregnancy, praying for a smooth, obstacle-free time ahead. Because our priests perform it on your behalf at our Yagna Ashram and telecast it live, no one in the family needs to travel, sit near heat or smoke, or fast: the expectant mother can simply watch in comfort from wherever they are, and the prasadam follows by courier. It is offered as prayer, alongside medical care, never in place of it.
Our priests perform the Ganapathi Homa around a consecrated fire at our Yagna Ashram, beginning with achamana, pranayama and the sankalpa in your name and gotra, then Ganapathi puja and kalasha sthapana. Agni is invoked in the kunda and, after the preliminary offerings, the ahutis are made: cow's ghee, samidha, durva grass, modaka, coconut, jaggery, sesame, rice, and seasonal flowers and fruit, every priest making their own offerings. The rite closes with purnahuti, pradakshina and aarti, and the prasadam is gathered for you. You watch it all on live telecast.
You can book the Ganapathi Homa with one, three or five priests. Each package is the complete homa, with the same ritual stages and the same kinds of offerings, performed privately for you and up to four family members and never combined with another booking. What changes is the number of priests: every priest makes their own ahutis, the offerings into the fire, and all of them perform at the same time, in one ceremony. An ahuti count is a count of these offerings, not a japa count, which measures repetitions of a mantra. Each priest makes 108 ahutis: 108 in all with one priest, 324 with three and 540 with five, in approximately 1 hour. A larger package adds priests and offerings, not a second ceremony. Choose the scale that fits your intention, preference and budget; the one-priest homa is complete in itself, and no package guarantees a particular result.
Yes. Our listed Ganapathi Homa packages specify standard ahuti counts and priest numbers. If your astrologer has prescribed a different count, we can arrange a customised homa following review by our priests. Please share your requirements with our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442. The team will confirm the ahuti count, number of priests, approximate duration and total price before you book. Your customised homa remains a private ceremony dedicated to your sankalpa, never combined with other customers' bookings.
About an hour, whichever package you choose: the priests perform together and make their offerings at the same time, so three or five priests do not lengthen the ceremony. Your muhurta, the date and time, is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours of booking, and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can follow every stage wherever you are.
You do not need to wait for an auspicious day. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would prefer one of the days traditionally sacred to Ganapathi — Chaturthi, his own tithi, Sankashti Chaturthi when obstruction is the concern, Vinayaka Chaturthi in Bhadrapada, or a Friday or Wednesday — tell us in the notes at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it. If a launch, opening or signing date is set, mention it too, and our priests will recommend a muhurta that sits well before it. Our Panchang shows the tithi and nakshatra for any date.
Yes — Aadi is no barrier to the Ganapathi Homa. It is a month of intense worship in the Tamil tradition, and Ganapathi is invoked freely throughout it. In Kerala the same solar month, Karkidakam, is traditionally marked by special Ganapathi Homas in temples. What some families avoid in Aadi are weddings and housewarmings, not fire rites of worship. Our astrologers will still fix the muhurta within the month from your birth chart.
Yes. What directs a homa is its sankalpa: the solemn resolve the priest makes before the fire is kindled, stating who the homa is for and what it is offered for. The deity invoked and the ritual remain the same; the purpose is yours, as your astrologer has advised it. So if you have been advised the Ganapathi Homa for a reason other than those on this page, write that purpose in your own words in the “Your sankalpa” box on the birth-details page, straight after payment, and the priest will state it in the sankalpa with your name, gotra and nakshatra. If the advice also names a date, a number of ahutis or a number of priests, mention it in the notes at checkout, or call our Devotee Relationship Team on +91 96295 55442 before you book.
Book the Ganapathi Homa online on this page, from India or from any other country; devotees living abroad book it the same way, and prices are shown in your currency. Choose one, three or five priests, and straight after payment add your name, gotra if you know it and your birth star, with your prayer for the homa in the “Your sankalpa” box. Your muhurta is confirmed by email within 24–48 working hours and the live telecast link arrives the day before, so you can watch the entire homa live, wherever you are. Afterwards, prasadam and your energised Ganapathi Yantra are couriered to you anywhere in the world, free of shipping cost.
Every Ganapathi Homa package includes the energised Ganapathi Yantra: a copper plate of about 1–2 inches, consecrated over three days and present in the fire through your homa. It is then rolled and sealed inside a silver amulet of about 2–4 inches, made to be worn, and couriered to you with your prasadam, free of shipping cost, usually reaching you in 1–2 weeks within India and 2–4 weeks internationally from the homa’s completion; the tracking email gives your personal time to wear it. If you add the optional 48-Day Anushthan, the yantra is also worshipped daily in our consecrated sanctum for 48 days before it is sealed.
Our silver amulets are specially made for everyday wear: copper is added to the silver to make them more durable. With regular use, the amulet may turn black, reddish or brown as it is exposed to heat and reacts with the chemicals in cosmetics. Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cotton cloth, keep perfume and cosmetics away from it, and clean it by rubbing it gently with a pinch of vibhuti (sacred ash). Every six months, polish it with cotton dipped in a silver cleaner, but never soak or dip the amulet itself. Never open it, as the energies of the yantra are sealed inside. If it is ever damaged, send it back to us, not to a jeweller.

Your ritual date is an auspicious muhurta calculated personally for you — not a slot on a rota. Once it is confirmed, rescheduling from the customer's side is not available, and cancellation does not carry a refund. If we ever have to move your ritual for unforeseen reasons at the ashram, we will inform you immediately and provide a fresh auspicious date at no cost — and your telecast, recording, prasadam and yantra remain exactly as promised.

Read the full refund and cancellation policy.
