The Ritual and Its Weight
Sri Vidya is the innermost stream of Devi upasana, where the Goddess is worshipped as the Sri Chakra — the yantra that maps the whole cosmos and the whole of you. The Sri Vidya Homa carries that worship into Agni. Ghee, honey, lotus seeds, herbs and sweet offerings are given into the fire while the priests recite the Devi mantras, the Lalita Sahasranama and the Sri Sukta, so that the same geometry drawn in the yantra is built in flame.
Tradition treats this rite as a rite of refinement rather than of demand. It is taken up by those who have begun a spiritual discipline and want it steady, by those returning to practice after long years away, and by families who wish the Mother's presence held over their home. What the fire is asked for is clarity, devotion and the fitness to receive grace — the tradition calls this the purification of the seeker before the sadhana can deepen.
ॐ ऐं ह्रीं श्रीं श्रीमात्रे नमः Salutations to the Divine Mother, source of speech, of power and of abundance — may She be present here. Why Devotees Book This
Devotees come to the Sri Vidya homam for the inner life, not the outer ledger. These are the intentions the tradition attaches to it.
Steadier sadhana
Offered when japa, meditation or daily puja has grown irregular, and you want the discipline set back on its feet.
Devotion that deepens
The rite is prescribed to turn dry practice into bhakti — worship done with feeling rather than duty alone.
Inner quiet
Sought by those carrying a restless mind, as a prayer for stillness, patience and an unhurried heart.
The Mother's grace
Sri Vidya upasana is classically undertaken to place oneself and one's household under Lalita Tripurasundari's protection.
Clarity of understanding
Because Sri Vidya is knowledge itself, the homa is also taken up by students and teachers praying for grasp and retention.
A sanctified home
The energised Sri Vidya Yantra couriered to you becomes the focus of your daily worship long after the fire has settled.

The most auspicious days for a Sri Vidya Homa
The Sri Vidya Homa follows the Devi calendar.
The Mother's day. A Friday in the waxing fortnight is the most commonly chosen window for the sri vidya homa.
The full moon, and Magha Pournami in particular — observed as Lalita Jayanti — is held especially fit for Sri Vidya worship.
The nine nights of Devi, when the Sri Chakra is worshipped in every form. Lalita Panchami during Sharada Navaratri is a favoured day.
The fifth lunar day is traditionally linked to Sri Vidya and is chosen when a monthly or repeating observance is wanted.
You do not need to wait for one of these days. Whenever you book, our astrologers calculate the muhurta from your own birth chart — a date chosen for you personally, which tradition regards as more precise than a calendar date chosen for everyone. If you would like the homa on one of the days above, tell us at checkout and we will fix the muhurta within it.
What you receive
The sealing of the Sri Vidya Yantra
The Sri Vidya Yantra is consecrated over three days — Jala (holy-water consecration with mantras), Prana (life force through pranayama & chants) and Jeeva Pratishta (awakened with 108 recitations & offerings) — then present through your homa, receiving the energies raised in the fire. When your homa concludes, it is rolled and locked inside its silver amulet according to Agama vidhi — the practice by which those energies are held within a consecrated object rather than dispersing. It is why a homa performed at our ashram can still reach a devotee ten thousand miles away: what the fire raised travels to you, sealed.

Yantra Pujas inside our consecrated sanctum
48-Day Anushthan (optional) — daily pujas for 48 days — the 27 Nakshatras + 12 Rashis + 9 Planets — then sealed in a silver amulet of approximately 2–4 inches. Performed in our consecrated sanctum at the Yagna Ashram.
A note on sacred tradition
As per strict Agama vidhi, no videography is permitted inside the temple sanctum — this preserves the pure sacred energies and undisturbed divine focus of the ritual. The main homa is respectfully telecast live from outside the sanctum.
Homas are telecast openly on our YouTube channel so that devotees everywhere may witness the rituals — and because we believe you should be able to see our work before you trust us with yours. Your sankalpa names you and any family members you add, so if you would rather your ceremony were not public, choose the private telecast option at checkout and it is streamed as an unlisted link, which does not appear on our channel or in search, though anyone who has the link can watch it and share it.
We state this plainly — transparency about what tradition forbids filming, and about what is public, is part of performing these rituals honestly.
How to wear your energised Sri Vidya Yantra
Your auspicious time to wear it
Wear it for the first time on a Friday, between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning. Bathe first, place the yantra on your pooja altar and offer your prayers, then wear it around your neck or your waist, on a red or black thread or a silver chain.
At a funeral
Take the yantra off before you attend a funeral.
Purify the amulet
Whenever the yantra has been taken off, or if it was worn at a funeral, dip it in raw milk or Ganga jal, show it incense, dhoop or attar (perfume), and then wear it again.
Keep the energy intact
You may repeat this energising once a week or once a month.
How your Sri Vidya Homa is performed
Sankalpa
The priest states your name, gotra and nakshatra — and those of up to four family members — with the intention this homa is performed for.
Ganapati Puja
The customary invocation to Ganapati, clearing obstacles before the deity is approached.
Agni Pratishtha
The fire is consecrated in the homa kunda and Agni invoked as the carrier of every offering that follows.
Lalita Tripurasundari Avahana
The mula mantra of Lalita Tripurasundari is chanted, inviting the deity's presence into the fire — by one, three or five priests as your package sets.
Ahuti
Ghee and akshata, with the flowers, grains and dravyas proper to this deity, are offered in sequence with mantra.
Purnahuti
The final complete offering seals the sankalpa stated at the opening.
Aarti & Dispatch
Aarti is performed live on your telecast. Vibhuti, sandalwood powder, kumkum and your energised Sri Vidya Yantra are then packed and shipped free to your door.
Lalita Tripurasundari
The Goddess worshipped in the Sri Vidya stream is Lalita Mahatripurasundari, the Divine Mother who dwells at the centre of the Sri Chakra. She is seen as young and radiant, red-hued, seated on a throne, holding a sugarcane bow, five flower arrows, a noose and a goad — the mind, the senses, attachment and restraint held in her own four hands. The Lalita Sahasranama of the Brahmanda Purana names her as Kameshwari, consort of Kameshwara, and as the one beyond the three cities of waking, dream and deep sleep. The Sri Sukta greets her as Sri, fullness itself. Seekers turn to this form when their practice asks for inwardness: she is approached less as a giver of things than as the ground of the sadhana, the mother who governs speech, beauty, and the ripening of the heart.
In this homa that grace is invoked through fire, with your own name and birth details spoken in the sankalpa.
